From Self-Doubt to Success: Launching an Online Coaching Programme That Works

1. Introduction: Meet Jean, Our Online Coaching Star

Picture this: a lovely lady named Jean Ramsey, sitting in what she calls “the pit of despair”, wondering if she’ll ever figure out this online coaching malarkey. Fast forward a bit, and voila! She’s running a successful group programme helping families with ADHD. How’s that for a transformation?

Let’s explore Jean’s journey and see how she went from “Can I even do this?” to “Watch me work my coaching magic!”

2. The Rocky Road to Coaching Success

When Jean first found our programme, she wasn’t exactly brimming with confidence.

In her own words: “I was in the pit of despair because I knew I had this fantastic desire to help people through coaching. But my original business model, um, was to support early career teachers… because early career teachers think they’ve got no time and they certainly don’t have any money.”

Not the best start, right? Add to that a promise to her husband not to invest in any more training, and you’ve got a recipe for coaching disaster. But Jean wasn’t about to give up that easily…

3. Embracing Structure: The Two Hour Tutor Magic

So, what turned things around for Jean?

She took the bold decision to join my programme, the 2 Hour Tutor.

With its step-by-step approach and a ton of the right support, Jean found herself pleasantly surprised.

She remarks: “Your programme really does what it says it will do on the tin. It’s so supportive. I like how it’s step-by-step and I like the checklists. I like the mindset work that we do with your dad. And Mel is a goldmine of information on how to follow up leads.”

But the real game-changer? Figuring out her ideal client.

Jean had a lightbulb moment: “I was typing away imagining who they were. And it was like a divine download. I thought, oh my God, I’m writing about my mom and dad and how if you don’t get this ADHD support in place, your family dynamic can be so hurtful and so toxic and so destructive.”

4. Taming the Tech Beast (It’s Not as Scary as You Think!)

Let’s face it, the thought of tackling tech can make even the bravest coach break out in a cold sweat. Jean was no exception:

She thought: “Am I even capable of getting my head around any of this tech?”

But guess what? With a bit of hand-holding and some deep breaths, Jean conquered the tech monster.

Her advice?: “When things are getting a bit fraught, trust the process. I like this is, from Banksy; if you get tired, learn to rest, not to quit.”

5. The Power of ‘We’re All in This Together’

One of the unexpected perks of the programme was the amazing community Jean found herself part of. It turns out, ‘misery loves company’ – but so does success!

You do really learn from each other and it’s so nice to know that somebody else is struggling with module five. The dreaded module five!”

Jean even made some valuable connections: “I have made good contact with, Emma D, and she’s going to offer a bonus session for my grandparents’ group on mindfulness for neurodivergent young people.”

6. Jean’s Golden Nuggets for Aspiring Online Coaches

For those of you tutors thinking about joining the 2 Hour Tutor Programme and applying it to a coaching business, Jean’s got some pearls of wisdom:

1. “Trust the process” (yes, she said it more than once!).
2. “Slow down, calm down.”
3. “Don’t worry, don’t hurry.”
4. “Learn to rest, not to quit.”
5. “Embrace the community support.”
6. “Face your tech fears head-on“.

7. Now it’s your turn to shine!

Jean’s journey from self-doubt to coaching superstar shows us that with the support of the 2 Hour Tutor Coaching Programme, a dash of perseverance, and a healthy dose of trust in the process, you too can launch a successful online tutoring or coaching programme.

Remember, as Jean would say, “Just trust the process. Slow down, calm down. Don’t worry, don’t hurry.” And who knows? Maybe next time, we’ll be writing about your coaching success story!

So, are you ready to take the plunge and launch your own online tutoring or coaching programme?
